Origins, A Perfect World, Intensely Hydrating Body Cream, 200ml, £28
yummymummybeauty rating 4.9
Sometimes a cream comes along which blasts all of the others out of the bathroom, and this is the one! Origins Intensely Hydrating Body Cream with age defender Silver Tip White Tea is ideal for dry to very dry skin. The scent is a fantastic combination of ripe peach and apricot mingled with orange blossom – this little beauty will leave you smelling good enough to eat!
The fragrance lingers, unlike other brands, and skin actually looks smoother and plumper, and, basically, better after each application, which, in my experience is not the norm. A high-end product with a bigger than average price, but my goodness, so worth it and in a perfect world this wonderful body cream would be the only one in my cabinet. Psst! Yummy top tip: Check out the free delivery and 2 sample treats when ordering through Origins online. www.origins.co.uk
Woodland Aromatics, Lemongrass Foot Cream, 60ml, £6.50 and Deep Moisture Hand Cream with Frangipani Flower, 60 ml, £7
yummymummybeauty rating 4.7
When Aromatherapist Wendy Drysdale despaired of ever finding a cream which wouldn’t leave her sensitive skin red and flaky, she decided to create her own and a unique range of gentle hand-made skincare was born!
Wendy’s cottage industry is inspired by living in the lush countryside of rural Perthshire and her high quality plant and organic based product range is produced in very small batches to ensure both quality and freshness. Wendy uses essential oils, botanical extracts and tinctures such as Meadowfoam Oil, Jojoba Oil and Sea Buckthorn Extract, which are packed with nutritional benefits and are ideal for those of us with sensitive or problem skin. There are no nasties to worry about here as the products are SLS, paraben and chemical-free.
I sampled Wendy’s luxurious Lemongrass Foot Cream a nutritious and comforting treat for dry feet and cracked heels. This ultra-thick cream includes Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Thistle oil, plus Cocoa butter, Tea Tree and refreshing Peppermint.
After a quick session removing dry skin from heels with my trusty Ped Egg, I smoothed on a layer of the richly fragrant lemon herb delight, which left my tootsies feeling cooled, fresh and deliciously moisturised. The thing with a lot of the heel creams on the market is that they are just that – great for heels. With this cream I felt happy to use it on my whole foot and saw a real improvement in the look and feel of my skin and heels after only a few uses.
I also tested Deep Moisture Hand Cream with Frangipani Flower, 60ml, £7. A beautifully rich and exotic fragranced cream for instantly younger looking hands – I kid you not, my hands haven’t looked this young since Bieber was a baby!
Check out Wendy’s natural products for the face and body: Sandalwood Gel Scrub/Mask £6, Blueberry Extract Cream, £7.50 and Orange & Marigold Bath Foam £4.00 for 100ml.
There is also a ‘Green Man’ range for Dishy Daddies, which includes a Soothing After Shave Balm with Witch Hazel and Cedarwood £7.50. For the home: Herbal pillows, £6; Mood oils with crystals £3.50 and Natural Room Sprays in Misty Meadow, Evening Dusk and Yuletide Magic, and at £6 these are just crying out to be bought as stocking fillers this Christmas.
Gift Boxes: Who wouldn’t want a gorgeous gift box of organic goodies? Gift box prices range from a very reasonable £12 – £20.

Temple Spa, Do Not Disturb Spa Box, 7 products, £38
yummymummybeauty rating 4.8
Those lovely people at Temple Spa know just what we like! An entire box crammed with each and every, and I mean every, conceivable treat you could possibly desire for a perfect spa-night in. In fact, all Temple Spa have left out of the equation is a devilishly handsome cove to hand us a fluffy towel!
To begin the whole spa experience we need time out – at least 15 – 20 minutes to yourself – so hang the perfumed ‘Do not disturb’ pillow on the bathroom door. Next, for some mood lighting and ambient scents, provided by the ‘Siesta Forever’ calming candle – a restful blend of lavender, geranium, dill and patchouli.
So dim the lights and drizzle a capful of luxurious ‘Drift Away’ into warm running water, swirl the frankincense and neroli oils to instill calmness and deepen breathing. Next step is to gently eliminate dead skin cells, scoop and apply a handful of ‘Sugar Buff’ Mediterranean body scrub with nourishing base oils of avocado, sesame and jojoba. Follow by wrapping yourself in the super softness of ‘Duvet’ firming body cream, then lavishly stroke ‘Repose’ Aromatherapy Resting Cream over your chest area, neck and face. This smells so amazing and contains a blend of essential oils to calm your soul. Finally, spritz a little ‘Quietude’ calming mist around you and your space, to allow peace and relaxation to sweep over you. Simply fabulous!
This box of goodies is part of Temple Spa’s gift collection and a real steal at the price. Check out their Home Spa box at £30 and The Voyager box, a home spa wherever you are at £20. Again a great present idea – I know, I know, but we need to think ahead! www.templespa.com/amandalatham
