Got some last-minute gifts still to buy but lacking inspiration?
a-gift-of-warmth-and-lightHere are some yummy ideas to put a smile on the face of your loved ones. Who me & Hannahwouldn’t want to wake up to these on Christmas morning?
•Heaven scent:
Set the scene for a serene Christmas with this beautiful organic ginger and ginger lily candle from Aveda. Made with environmentally-friendly soy wax, it has a burn time of more than 50 hours – great value for its £30 price tag, www.aveda.co.uk. Presented in a gorgeous clear glass pillar and pre-wrapped in handcrafted paper, it’s a little bit of luxury that spa lovers will really appreciate.• Christmas colour:
There’s only one colour for lips over the festive season and that’s got to be red. Your sister or best friend will love you forever if you pick her perfect shade of scarlet lippy and wrap it up in time for December 25th. I’m loving Nars’ Velvet Matte Lip Pencil for a modern take on a old movie bombshell classic. It comes in 19 shades, with a good half dozen on the red spectrum. My favourite is ‘Dragon girl’, £18, a dark pinky red. The matte finish is very current but isn’t drying. As it’s a lipstick/pencil combined, there’s no need for a separate liner, but for extra definition at Christmas, try 0607845024576teaming it with Nars Lipliner pencil in Jungle Red, £16.50. If you’re not going as far as giving the gift of Botox this Christmas, Korean brand Racinne’s fabulous anti-aging creams could be the next best thing. The brand’s Ultimate Youth Power Cream, £36, www.racinne.co.uk, from the Time Defying Beauty range, is like a facelift in a jar. Not only does it firm up the skin, I also found my fine lines looked reduced after just two weeks’ use. Perfect if you want to cultivate a healthy, fresh-faced glow in time for your New Year’s Eve party.• Body benefits
This last one really is a bargain. If you just want to get someone a ‘little minding’, at a fiver, you can’t get better than this. Mandara Spa’s rich range of body butters is soft and luxurious and definitely defies the price tag. I love the lime and coconut scent. When the weather’s so cold and miserable outside it instantly whisks you off to sunnier, more exotic climes. Gorgeous. Available from www.timetospa.co.uk.
