Meet the team

ELAINE HUNTER – editor

Elaine has been a national newspaper journalist and magazine editor for more than 20 years; writing on beauty, health and family issues before launching this webmag – yummymummybeauty.com three years ago. Elaine is based in Scotland but has worked in London and America. (She’s worked at the Express in London, the Daily Record, the Scotsman, the Sunday Herald, Sunday Business and the Sun.) She wants women from all walks of life to enjoy the beauty products out there – and wants real reviews from real women.

STEVE KING – Dishy Daddy columnist and Deputy Editor

Steve King, is a Men’s Grooming Expert, broadcaster and journalist. He is a former editor of Men’s Health Magazine, as well as numerous woman’s magazines. He was also the resident expert on Channel 4’s Richard & Judy Show and wrote fashion and grooming columns in both The Sunday Express and The Mail on Sunday. He is the foster parent to three children, aged 12, eight and three-years-old and is a true believer that women are not the only ones who need a helping hand in the “looking their best” department. Steve is a grooming guru to be reckoned with and will stop at nothing to help turn the nation’s men into “Dishy Daddies!”

CLARE TRODDEN – columnist/assistant editor

Clare, a national newspaper and magazine journalist for more than 25 years, and the former Editor of Spectrum, not only researches and writes for yummymummybeauty but is also part of the editing team. Clare, who is based in Scotland, has been writing about and testing beauty for decades, and so when it comes to brands, skincare and anything in between, she’s your girl. (She’s worked at the Express in London, the Scotsman, the Herald, Sunday Mail and the Daily Record.)

LAURA DAVIDSON – columnist/travel editor

Laura, a national newspaper and magazine journalist for more than 20 years, has joined the team of yummymummybeauty and writes the Diary of a sleep-deprived yummy column. Laura, who is based in Scotland, has been writing about travel and the starry world of celebrity for almost 17 years for the tabloid press and top magazines. Laura also specialises in family, social, health and home interiors. (She’s worked at the Express, the Sun, the Star, the Sunday Mail and the Daily Record.)

DONNA WHITE – blogger, columnist and writer

Donna has been a magazine and newspaper journalist for more than two decades. She was chief writer of The Sunday Mail, before taking a career break to wipe snot and watch The Wiggles! During her time at home raising two lively boys, Blake and Brodie, she became the founder and writer of an award-nominated parenting blog. She recently returned to the workplace after 8 years, using her blogging skills as a web marketer. Her beauty regime has moved up a notch since she turned 40 in the Summer of 2013 – when she discovered that: “with a little moisturising and clever make-up I could easily pass for a girl of 39”.

Dr LOUISE NEUWIRTH – business production director/designer

Louise, 40, heads our sales and business promotion side, and comes to us from the world of business. Louise is part of the team who will be setting up the advertising pages and the yummy shop. Armed with a Phd, Louise, a mum of two, is science based too – so offers a different perspective on the whole beauty front. Louise, who is based in Scotland, but has lived in London and worked abroad, is married and also loves her skin creams. Working in the right place then…

ANNABEL KARMEL – celebrity columnist/author

A mother of three, Annabel Karmel is the UK’s best-selling author on feeding babies and children. She is an expert in devising tasty and nutritious meals for children without the need for parents to spend hours in the kitchen. Annabel has written 24 books on feeding babies, children and families and sold over 4 million books worldwide. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Annabel’s first book, the Complete Baby & Toddler Meal Planner which has become the authoritative guide on feeding babies and is regularly in the top five cookery titles.
