Budget beauty for men

I thought it might be a great idea if I looked at some budget-busting products that really do work. (I’m saying that as I’ve just been looking at the ‘Back to School’ bills for uniforms, shoes, school bags, endless bags of pens, notebooks etc.)

I’ve been researching this topic over the last month or so and come up with some ranges that offer excellent value for money – without breaking your bank balance! Hey – every penny counts right?

DOVE MEN +CARE FACE SCRUB, £4.29

For the money, this product does exactly what it claims to do. It offers a deep cleaning formula, that doesn’t leave your face feeling like it’s been stripped of every last bit of moisture. That’s probably because Deep Clean+ Face Scrub is clinically proven to fight skin dryness while thoroughly cleansing.

It’s simple to use. You lather on the skin and it rinses off easily and quickly and leaves your skin feeling pretty damn good.

The manufacturers claim it’s “The caring way to wash your face” and to be honest I can’t fault it.

AUBERY GINSENG BIOTIN SHAMPOO, £9.98

I often get asked about how to treat thinning hair. Its’ a worry for a number of guys out there.

So with a little digging I found this affordable treatment. It’s not a cure for baldness, but does seem to restore body and fullness to thinning, fine hair. My tester loved it and said the shampoo with this invigorating formula, left his hair ultra-clean, shiny and easy to style. And as an added bonus it tones and energizes the scalp.

Made with hair-thickeners and nutrients biotin and ginseng, plus traditional Chinese herbal ‘He Shou Wu’ which is claimed to be an excellent scalp energizer.

Give it a go!

WOODY’S SHAVE RELIEF BALM, £6.99

I came across this range on, of all things, Twitter (@woodys_UK) and I reckon it’s a winner.

They have a huge range of products from shampoos, hair wax, creams and shower gel to traditional soap bars and quirky deo sprays. They use the finest of ingredients and they don’t cost the earth.

I’ve singled out the Shave Relief Balm – but can vouch for all the products I tried from the range.

The balm instantly restores moisture balance as it soothes and calms the skin. The cool blast leaves the skin refreshed and the face ready for what comes next. The light, non-greasy Soothing Post Shave Balm is the perfect finish to the perfect shave. All you need to do is apply a small amount to your palms over face and neck.

For those of you not familiar with this exciting new range it was developed with the collaboration of celebrity barbers and stylists. Their hard work and keen insights into what grooming products a man needs in his daily routine helped create the Woody’s of today.
