BALANCE ME Super Moisturising Body Oil – £24.50 for 200ml

yummymummybeauty rating 4.7

What they say: “Smooth away dry patches, soften and protect delicate skin or skin prone to stretch marks with our nut-free, naturally active and exquisitely fragranced super moisturizing body oil.”

What we think; Balance Me’s Super Moisturizing Body Oil is a pale golden oil which comes in an easy to use plastic bottle with press-down lid; great for travelling as it’s lightweight and won’t break.

It smells gorgeous; light, fresh and delicately floral. It contains oils of Grape Seed, Sunflower Seed, Sesame Seed, Wheat Germ, Jojoba Seed, Rosehip, Virgin Coconut, Borage Seed, Calendula, Vitamin E, Neroli Flower, Mandarin Peel, Petitgrain Leaf and Roman Chamomile. As with all Balance Me products, this is paraben, sulphate, petroleum, mineral oils, silicones, dea, pegs, propylene glycol, artificial fragrances and colour free!

This is a thin oil which sinks into the skin quickly leaving it soft and deeply hydrated with a lovely healthy sheen; smooth over damp skin after a bath or shower (or even add a few drops to the bath). I found it to be very moisturising; with regular use, it has revived my dry, flaky calves – it’s also great for any dry patches, particularly on elbows or knees and also helps to restore scar tissue and stretch marks.

This product is great value; you get a lot for your money and it will last for ages. From www.balanceme.co.uk

What they say; “This multi-purpose, luxurious dry oil moisturises, nourishes and enhances the skin thanks to its unique formula made with an exceptional blend of oils (grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan) combined with our patented anti-oxidant Polyphenols. It envelops the skin with a subtle, floral and sun-kissed fragrance, with woody notes. Use it on the body, hair, nails, in the bath or as a massage oil.“

What we think; Divine Oil contains skin nourishing oils of Grape Seed, Sesame Seed, Sunflower Seed, Hibiscus Seed, Argan, Tomato extract & Shea Butter. Packaged in a solid amber coloured glass bottle with wooden lid and super fine mist spray, this oil contains no parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulfate or animal ingredients. It is a multi use oil which can be used on the body, hair, nails, in the bath, or as a massage oil. This oil felt luxurious to use; it’s a rich, but light oil which is absorbed quickly; leaving a non-sticky finish with a lovely healthy sheen. A beautifully hydrating stage in your skincare routine; step out of the shower and mist this beautiful oil all over damp skin, gently massage in & skin is left soft & moisturised; feeling beautifully conditioned, healthy & supple.  From www.uk.caudalie.com

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil – £39 for 100ml

yummymummybeauty rating 4.8

What they say; “Essential body care to tone and improve skin elasticity and firmness. A fine, lightweight oil formulated with essential oils and recommended to help reduce the look of stretch marks. Also recommended during a period of weight loss. Leaves skin satin-soft and supple. Formulated with essential oils of geranium, mint and rosemary to tone and stimulate skin. Hazlenut Oil hydrates to ensure soft, supple skin”.

What we think; This rich, golden oil comes in an oval clear glass bottle with screw top lid. It smells gorgeous and has a typical Clarins scent evoking a lovely feeling of wellbeing, helping you to relax and feel calm. It contains Hazlenut oil and extracts of Pelargonium, Rosemary and Mint which will help to firm, tone and improve elasticity; with regular use, it can help to soften and smooth the appearance of stretch marks and is great for use during pregnancy or during and after weight-loss. Smooth onto damp skin after a bath or shower to lock in moisture and leave skin soft, supple & hydrated.

This luxurious oil can also be applied directly onto dry skin, after lightly body brushing, or using a body scrub in the bath or shower. Its a beautifully hydrating oil which enhances the beauty of skin leaving it gorgeously glossy and feeling like silk; it does take a little while to be absorbed so wait 10 minutes before getting dressed. My only niggle with this oil is that I wish it had a pump, spray, or even a pipette dispenser as you can easily pour too much out leading to wastage or a bit of a mess! From www.clarins.co.uk

ESPA Nourishing Body Oil – £30 for 100ml

yummymummybeauty rating 4.6

What they say; “Deeply nourishing jojoba and sweet almond oil leave skin beaituflly soft and supple, calendula gently soothes, while antioxidant grape seed oil, rich in vitamin E, helps regenerate and smooth to improve the appearance of stretch marks and uneven skin tone.”

What we think; This is an award winning body oil which is deeply nourishing and rejuvenating, suitable for all skin types. It comes in a tall, elegant frosted glass bottle with screw top lid (again, I so wish this came armed with a pump or spray dispenser!)

Nourishing Body Oil is completely unscented & therefore won’t interfere with your favourite fragrance; it doesn’t contain essential oils & is safe to use for those who are pregnant or taking strong medication. This is a pale-coloured oil which can be smoothed onto damp or dry, clean skin; pour a small amount onto your palm and massage into the skin until fully absorbed – it spreads well, so you don’t need to use too much.

You could also add a few drops to a bath warm bath, and it is excellent to use as a massage oil too. After use, skin feels soothed, nourished and any dry patches totally rejuvenated; your body is left with a delicate, healthy looking sheen. This oil performed extremely well; for me personally though, I prefer to use an oil which has some scent to it. For some reason, it makes it feel more luxurious to use, but that#s just a minor, personal gripe. From www.espaskincare.com
