Oh my gmax-factor-false-lash-effect-velvet-volume-mascara-rrp-11-99-wand-on-leftood God. When mascara is this good, you have got to mee150shout it from the rooftops. Like the first time you try rhubarb gin. Or have sex. Or buy designer jeans. You’re like… I’m sooooo doing this again.

And so it is with the Velvet Volume mascara from Max Factor, £11.99. Now I have to say I am a fan of this particular brand for mascara – I like their lipsticks too, but when it comes to eyes – they know what they are doing.

So I applied just one coat of the new Velvet Volume mascara and it coated my lashes in one little swipe. ONE. LITTLE. SWIPE. I kid you not. And the result is long, noticeable and well-spaced lashes. I’ve made a selfie for you to see for yourself. again-blackwhite

Spidery lashes are not my thing – and I, personally, don’t think that once you’re my age – late forties – you should be going for the heavy-lash look. But you do want your eyes to have some definition. And this does the job.

I had it on all day – and although it smudged a little after five hours under my eyes, this didn’t bother me much at all. You can always go for a re-touch…

I would thoroughly recommend this little gem – which is now a staple mascara in my make-up bag.

And for the money, this mascara ticks all the boxes and a few more!
