http://www.dreamstime.com/-image23974156It may be your worst nightmare. Your partner cheats on you, and not with just anyone, but your friend. How would you feel? Would it be the end of your relationship or your friendship, or both?

A survey by Bach Original Flower Remedies has revealed that we are less likely to forgive our friends for cheating on us than our partners.

A whopping 84% of people surveyed would not forgive a friend if they cheated with our partner compared to a relatively low 51% who wouldn’t forgive their partner if they played away.  And even those who said they would forgive would find it hard to move on, with 65% stating they would not trust again. Do women place more trust in their friends than their partners? And are they therefore more heartbroken when a friend betrays them?

Overall women were found to be less forgiving of their partners (58%) and friends (88%) for cheating on them than men (40%, 77%). Married couples are 13% less likely to forgive than dating couples and 6% less likely to forgive than those co-habiting. But when it comes to forgiving your friends for cheating with your partner, it makes little difference if you are dating, cohabiting or married with only 3% variation across the results.

Holly can help to manage these powerful emotions.
