Benefit They’re Real! Push-Up Liner, £18.50

This is a much-anticipated new release from Benefit in the same range as the famed They’re Real! Mascara and I have to say, it does not disappoint!  I love a good feline flick on the eye; it’s chic and elegant and makes your eyes look huge!  Unfortunately, I’ve never found the technique terribly easy to master.  Enter Benefit’s They’re Real! Push Up Liner lash-hugging gel liner pen.

This liner is a pen-type product with twist off cap, which is great as it doesn’t come off in your make-up bag and leak everywhere! Twist up the bottom section and the gel is dispensed from the nib.

The Push-Up Liner has a fine, flexible tip which makes it easy to angle the liner right against the root of the lash, making eyes look bigger and lashes thicker and more luscious.  A steady hand is still needed, but this liner makes it easy to precision-draw a thin, natural line or turn up the volume for a thick, dramatic look.

The liner itself is a thick, dry, jet black gel which dries quickly to a matte finish.  Easy to use and easy to perfect, this liner is long wearing and won’t budge all day; you’ll need to remove it with a good bi-phase eye make up remover though!

Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet Smooth-Effect MakeUp SPF 15, £33

Perfection Lumière Velvet is a light, fluid foundation with a pretty, delicate scent; it is presented in a chic little black bottle similar in shape to Chanel’s amazing Vitalumière Aqua and is the latest foundation release from the sophisticated Chanel.  The packaging is perfect for travelling as its lightweight and won’t smash if it gets accidentally dropped.

Perfect for all skin types, this is a super light ‘second-skin’ foundation that naturally smoothes and perfects the complexion with a gentle, velvety matte finish.

I’ve been using shade No. 20, Beige, but it is available in eight other shades.  Easily applied and blended either with fingers or buffed on with a brush; apply to the centre of the face and blend outwards.  It gives the most beautiful radiance and is softly matte, without looking flat or lifeless.

It never looks heavy or cakey, but appears to blend seamlessly with the skin giving a beautiful even soft focus finish.  It’s not necessary to use a powder with this foundation, but if you still feel the need, try to only use it on the T-zone.

You can barely tell that this foundation is there; your skin just looks naturally perfected, skin tone is smoothed and pores minimized.

It gives light to medium coverage, but is easily buildable if you need a little more coverage in particular areas; I’ve been using it with a little concealer to mask my dark under eye circles. I didn’t need to use a primer under this foundation as it lasted well all day without fading; it’s comfortable to wear, non drying and silky soft on the skin.

This is a really gorgeous foundation with a fantastic formula and one that will not be leaving my side; to me, this is the perfect foundation for evening wear.

Make Up Revolution London

This is not a brand I’d tried before, and as you know, I’m always on the lookout for new, exciting brands and products that hit the shelves.  MakeUp Revolution was launched in April this year & is available in Superdrug and online.  The quality of the products is as good as many of the more high end brands available to us; it’s a fabulous range of long lasting, on-trend shades which don’t stint on the pigmentation front.  These are high quality, affordable products with incredible prices ranging from £1 – £12 (Yep, you did read that right!) allowing you to follow the latest seasonal makeup trends! I tried a few pieces in their range…

Redemption Palette Iconic 3 (£4 each)

The ultimate palette containing 12 shades ranging from pearl and shimmer to matte and satin shades in varying degrees of pinky-nude along with a dual ended sponge applicator.  It’s one of their best-selling palettes, and you can understand why!

It’s incredible value and super flattering on pretty much all skin tones.  The powders are supersoft, pigmentation is great and there is very little fallout; I would use your own brush however, as the applicator included isn’t really up to much.  On me, these shades last around fine hours without fading, but if you use a primer first, you’ll get a whole day’s wear out of them.

Awesome Eyeshadow and Eyebrow palette in Disappear till tomorrow (£4

This is a great palette containing 14 super intense shades with 2 eyebrow powders – everything you need for your eyes & brows all in one place.  Again, super soft matte, shimmer & satin shadows in lovely cool & warm nude tones. The packaging itself feels a little cheap & flimsy, but the quality of the makeup itself makes up for this.  This palette doesn’t come with any applicator, so I’ve been using my fantastic Real Techniques brushes with it.

Amazing Care Lipstick #happylips (£3)

Super hydrating lipsticks which have a clear outer layer containing a soothing blend of Argan Oil, whilst the inner core adds in intense pop of colour (they remind me of a more affordable version of the Clarins Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balms from last summer!).

When smoothed onto the lips the layers blend to add a beautiful hydrating blurry stain with a wet look shine.  I tried Love Red! but the Amazing Care Lipstick is also available in four other pretty shades.

The only issue I have is that unless you line your lips quite thickly with a similar coloured lip liner, or you use a lip brush to line your lips, you won’t be able to get any of the inner core colour onto the outer edges of your lips. I’m very much looking forward to trying more products from this fantastic new brand!
