Neo Stem Sérum, £59

Neo STEMThis Sérum from Laboratoire Prenyl B Cosmetique is the very latest in French skincare (we love French skincare products here at yummymummybeauty HQ). It was recently launched in the UK to much acclaim, and literally flew off the shelves when it was released in France.

Neo Stem is a unique combination of potent, active anti-ageing ingredients with an ability to penetrate the deeper levels of the dermis and epidermis more effectively than many other anti-aging products on the market. It is a thick, creamy, fragrance- free serum presented in a double-skinned pump action dispenser.

It contains 30ml of product which is just enough for one month’s supply if you apply as per the directions; I smoothed it onto my skin once a day underneath my regular moisturiser. Giving a real boost to dull winter complexions, my skin was left beautifully soft, supple and perfectly moisturised after my four week trial; fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed with a radiant, healthy glow. L’Oreal, Nude Magique CC Creams

“Dreaming of a BB cream that can Colour Correct? In 2013, wake up to a new Foundation Reality, L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique CC Creams are coming…”

This is the new kid on the block. Liked BB Creams? Well, you’re going t0 love these babies even more! These Colour Control or Colour LOreal - Nude Magique CC PurpleCorrecting Beautifiers have a more refined approach than a BB cream as they have different options for different issues. CC Creams do everything a BB cream does; but they go that extra mile to even out the skintone and give you added coverage to correct issues such as redness, dull or tired skin without clogging your pores.

Nude Magique CC Creams are buildable and have a lightweight, beautifully silky, slightly speckley liquid formulation; I’m told these are Smart Pigment Capsules. They blend perfectly into the skin leaving a velvety, semi matte, but still natural finish; there’s no need to cover up with a powder. If you’re after ‘flawless coverage, a perfectly even skin texture, a fresh dewey glow, 24hr hydration and an SPF’, then look no further. Available from mid-February 2013 at

Nars Light Reflecting Finishing powder – Pressed Translucent – Crystal, £25

NarsI’ve never used a Finishing Powder before, but honestly, I won’t be going out without it again. It’s perfect if you know you’ll be having your photo taken; ideal for brides and party-goers alike, as it is light reflecting and creates a sort of optical illusion on your skin – a bit like airbrushing really.

I tried the pressed powder compact which comes with a flat little applicator. I found it worked best with my MAC powder brush No. 150 though. It comes in its own rather neat little protective fabric pouch, which is small enough to pop in your handbag.

This super-fine mineral powder is translucent; it has no colour in it, so will not alter the colour of your skin, but enhances the look of your make-up and ‘sets’ it for the whole day, right through into the evening. Lightly dusted over your complexion, as the final stage in your make-up routine, this beautiful powder gives the skin the most stunning luminescence; diffusing fine lines pores and making your complexion look dewey, radiant and totally flawless. Suitable for all skin types and all skin tones, this must have product is available in a pressed powder compact (£25) or loose (£25) from 1st February.

Hydraluron, £24.99

From the fabulous Indeed Labs, and fast becoming a much-loved cult product; Hydraluron is an intensely hydrating serum designed to be used Hydraluronunderneath your regular moisturiser. Containing premuim grade Dutch hyaluronic acid, which is said to hold 1,000 times its weight in water; over time, this fantastic Moisture Booster gives ‘below surface’ hydration and increases the skins moisture levels and skin elasticity.

I didn’t get on with Nanoblur, but I’m delighted to report that my relationship with Hydraluron is going from strength to strength. This is a clear, fragrance-free gel which I’ve been using for a few months now; I’ve been using a pea sized blob of it under an oil at night, followed by a thin layer of night cream, and during the day under my regular daily moisturiser.

I’m going though a bit of a ‘layering’ phase to help me get through the winter, as you can tell. On initial application, it spreads well and sinks in quickly leaving my skin feeling a little taught, but after a couple of weeks, you can really see and feel the difference. This is a really refreshing drink for parched winter skin; it made me look more fresh and dewey. Skin is left feeling moisturised and smoothed and fine lines plumped, perfectly ready for make up application. From

L’Occitane, Shea Butter Range, £31

Highly nourishing and fabulous for this time of year, L’Occitane’s delicious Shea Butter range deeply moisturises, soothes and smells totally edible.Loccitane Pure Shea Butter I’m particularly loving the Organic Pure Shea Butter (150ml for £26); its been marketed as a ‘Beauty Balm’ which helps to nourish, protect, soften and regenerate dehydrated skin, but to me it’s been more of a Miracle Balm.

Used on all your dry, cracked or sore patches anywhere on the face or body, this thick butter has totally restored my cracked, dry and very painful hands.

The Protective Cream with SPF 20 (50ml for £31) with 15% Shea Butter is perfect used on face and neck, morning and evening. It soothes and nourishes leaving skin deliciously soft and smooth and has a delicate natural, calming scent. Quickly absorbed and non greasy, it has been working to strengthen my skin on harsh windswept winter dog walks and protect it against the ageing effects of the sun. Available from
