Why not follow me on Twitter; @TaraYMB to hear more about my latest beauty finds or to let me know if you’ve found a real standout product recently!

I’ve been sourcing some really exciting products for hands & feet for the A/W 14/15 season. Here, I wanted to share with you the best I’ve found – from hand creams and cuticle oils to illuminators and foot soaks!

For beautiful hands, begin your manicure with Rococo’s Pro Cuticle Remover (£12.50) to gently, but effectively dissolve and soften excess cuticles without stinging.

If your cuticles aren’t too out of control, try massaging Rococo’s Cuticle Cream (£15) into the cuticle and nail area. This luxurious treatment cream has been formulated with avocado and sweet almond oil, kokum butter and hydrolysed keratin; it moisturises, conditions and encourages stronger, healthier nail growth.

An essential tool for speedy perfecting and shaping nails is Rococo’s Pro Glass Nail File (£12) – this perfectly weighted, dual-sided file promotes healthy nail growth by preventing snags & tears.

Before you start painting your nails, always cleanse them using a cotton pad soaked with nail varnish remover even if you don’t need to remove any old polish. It preps the nails by removing any grease & grime so that your polish or treatment lasts longer.

There are many base coats on the market, depending on your nail type. I’ve been testing out five of the best; Seche’s Base, Ridge Filling Base Coat, £6.15, helps disguise imperfections and fill in ridges in the nail plate leaving a pearlescent; leaving a super smooth surface, perfect for polish application, helping your nail varnish become more durable and chip resistant.

NailsInc’s Nail Kale Superfood Base Coat, £15, can be used as a treatment and base coat. It contains superfood extracts of aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape to deeply nourish, smooth and brighten the nails. The formula is also enriched with vitamins A, C, E, F and H for added nourishment and protection against breakage and splitting.

Guerlain’s Protective Base Coat, £18.50, is a quick-drying base coat containing a silicon derivative grafted onto a salicylic acid chain to reinforce nails making them less fragile and more resilient. It creates a protective film enabling perfect nail polish application & protection from nail staining. All the Guerlain lacquers have fantastic, short, paddle shaped brushes for perfect 3 stroke coverage. Rococo Nail Apparel have two basecoats in their range; The Ultimate Nail Basecoat, £12, for the ultimate nail! This fast drying treatment base contains calcium, camomile and wheat protein to nourish damaged, weak or brittle nails, and Superbase Treatment, £12, a super-bonding base coat which contains silk to prolong the life of your manicure.

Not strictly a basecoat, polish or topcoat, NailsInc’s Nail Kale Illuminator in Bright Street, £14, has been formulated with anti-oxidant kale which boosts the production of keratin for harder, stronger nails; this is the ultimate treatment for stained, yellowing nails leaving them healthier and stronger looking. Iridescent pearls brighten the pink nail bed giving the appearance of whiter tips and healthy looking, illuminated nails. It can be used on its own or over coloured polish to give an extra added dimension!

Finish your manicure by sweeping Rococo’s Essential Nail Oil (£12.50) around cuticles; a deliciously almond scented daily moisturising and conditioning oil to encourage healthy skin, nail and cuticle growth; use as often as possible! Or try Handbag Holiday Cuticle Oil by Butter London (£13) intensive nourishment for cuticles containing natural oils & a cocktail of vitamins to sooth and heal. It has a gorgeous tropical coconut & pineapple scent; perfect to pop in your handbag & treat your cuticles on the move.

I’ve been slathering on L’Occitane’s smoothing and softening Amande Smooth Hands Hand Cream ,£14, several times a day. Enriched with Almond milk & Almond proteins, it is a light hand cream which instantly moisturises & beautifies the skin on hands, leaving the delicate scent of almond tree flowers.

Butter London’s Backstage Basics Signature Lotion, £17, is formulated with shea butter, aloe vera and glycerin to hydrate and sooth, along with antioxidants A, D and E to help protect from environmental aggressors; lightweight and non greasy with a subtle scent of bergamot, freesia, amber & vanilla it can be used all over the body, hands and feet.

The great new range from E45 consists of 3 new hand-creams, perfectly sized to keep in your handbag, £3.99 each. Pick from Intense Recovery; to intensively nourish skin, Repair and Protect Overnight Hand Cream; which boosts skin cell regeneration overnight, and Nourish and Restore; to transform hands for a softer look and feel – instant relief to rehydrate and regenerate leaving hands feeling softer, smoother and more supple.

I’ve been testing out the gorgeous products from Scholl’s new Velvet Smooth range & following Scholl’s Celebrity pedicurist, Glenis Baptiste’s advice for the perfect weekend pedi! Firstly, gently buff away any hard skin on the back, sides & soles of your feet using the Velvet Smooth Express Pedi (£39.99).

This is a highly effective electronic foot file which effortlessly buffs away hard skin in minutes; brilliant! To sooth, soften & cleanse the feet, add a few drops of Velvet Smooth Foot Soak (£6.99) to a basin of warm water; relax & immerse feet for 15 minutes. Freshly scented, it contains a lovely blend of Green Caviar, Marine Serum & Vitamin E. Gently dry feet, push back cuticles & clip nails (only clip nails after soaking your feet, otherwise they’re more likely to split) then file nails into shape. Hydrate feet using the Velvet Smooth Essential Moisture Cream (£5.99) quickly absorbed & non greasy, leaving feet velvety smooth. For particularly dry areas try massaging in Velvet Smooth Intense Serum (£6.99) which contains Hyaluronic Acid, Pentavitin™ and Green Caviar; intense hydration with visible results, or try L’Occitane’s Amande Lighter Legs (£20) – an ultra-fresh gel-cream which melts instantly into the skin & helps to relieve tired legs & feet leaving them feeling fresh & relieved, soft & nourished.

Now you’re ready to give yourself a quick pedicure! Cleanse toenails with nail polish remover, then apply base coat, 2 coats of polish, followed by 1 of top coat. Finally, before bed, apply Scholl’s Velvet Smooth Night Mask (£7.99) which stimulates cell re-growth and leaves feet super soft. Sheer bliss!
