Clarisonic Mia 2 – Sonic Skin Cleansing, £120

Ever used one of those Sonic toothbrushes? Remember how super clean they make your teeth feel? Well, Clarisonic works on the same technology. I’ve been waiting such a long time to get my hands on one of these babies; friends who have one, cannot live without it and I’ve been dying to give one a go.

The Mia 2 has two speed settings and a pulsing ‘T-Timer’ so you know how long to cleanse each zone of your face. It comes with a two-year warranty, a handy ‘Protective Travel Case’ and a Universal Voltage charger – loving this; it magnetically clips onto the handle of your Clarisonic to charge it!

Different brush heads are available for delicate, sensitive and normal skins and there’s even a deep-pore cleansing head; I thought I’d play safe and stick with the sensitive one to start with. So, I’ve been double cleansing; removing make-up first, then using the Clarisonic with my regular cleanser for a really deep down cleanse just once a day.

It’s so quick and easy to use, taking only 60 seconds to remove ingrained impurities, leaving skin incredibly smooth and comfortable; never tight or dry. As a result, my skin is breaking out so much less, skin tone has evened out, pores and fine lines are less noticeable and even those persistent blackheads around my nose are disappearing; yay!

My skin is so unbelievably soft and smooth that I can’t stop touching it. This isn’t a harsh product; if you have found it so, you’re not using it right. You don’t need to use any pressure, just let it gently float over your skin. I’ve found I need to use a traditional exfoliator less as my skin is so clear, I just don’t need it; make-up seems to go on smoother and I need to use less oils, serums and moisturisers as they seem to absorb better. I love it; this is honestly one of the best skincare products I’ve ever used. From

Benefit All Star Kits

Launched just this month, I’m loving these fabulous mini kits from Benefit containing sample size versions of their best selling products. They are presented in cute little boxes with magnetic closures, so nothing falls out and contain a good-sized mirror and a handy Tips and Tricks guide for instant beauty!

All the products are numbered so you know which order to apply them and it’s ‘easy peesy’ to follow the guide. I tried Primping with the Stars and Do the Bright Thing, but also available is The Bronze Champions.

Primping With The Stars; “Get guaranteed Gorgeous with the all-time greatest Fake-Its!” which contains Benefit’s award winning They’re Real Mascara, Stay Don’t Stray; stay-put primer for concealers & eyeshadows, Benetint; the legendary Rose-tinted lip & cheek stain, Some Kind-A Gorgeous; the silky smooth foundation faker for medium complexions, Girl Meets Pearl; a Liquid Tint for faces, and The Porefessional; pro balm to minimize the appearance of pores. A perfect kit for a naturally beautiful, flawless make-up look.

Do The Bright Thing; “Brighten up your look with our Brilliant Beautifiers!” containing “That Gal”; Brightening Face Primer, Dandelion; a beautiful brightening face powder, They’re Real Mascara, High Beam; Luminescent Complexion Enhancer and BadGal Liner Waterproof; an extra black waterproof eye pencil. This definitely has to be my favourite kit as it leaves you with a beautiful, warm, healthy glow.

It’s great to be able to try these products out and have a good old play with them before thinking about buying full sizes. They would be a lovely treat for yourself or as a gift for a friend; perfect for a young teenager starting to experiment with make-up as well. The real winners from these kits for me were Some Kind-A Gorgeous, Benetint and Dandelion which I now don’t think I can ever live without! £26.50 each from

Laura Mercier New Collection for Spring/Summer 2013

I tried some of the gorgeous products from the new Spring/Summer 2013 Laura Mercier collection; it consists of stunning delicate and brilliant shades in very wearable, flattering colours.

Caviar Stick Eye Colour (£20.50 each); Beautiful buttery eye shadow sticks in a gorgeous array of colours; fool proof to apply, long lasting and smudge free. I tried Seashell; a highly pigmented pale shimmery gold. The colours can be applied & blended out for a sheer wash of colour, or are buildable for more depth; use one of the darker shades as a liner, or smudge it out to create a smoky eyed look. I find these Caviar Sticks so much easier to use than powder eyeshadows as they create no dust. Available in 17 beautiful shades from Grey Pearl to Rosegold and Sugar Frost.

Crème Eye Liner (£18.50); I tried Canard, a stunning dark teal which made my sludgy blue eyes pop. These Crème Liners are thick, creamy smooth & waterproof; they set quickly & won’t budge all day. Easily applied using a steady hand and a fine liner brush to create a smudge proof subtle flick or thick dramatic cats eye. Available in 6 striking colours from Canard & Cobalt to Violet.

Matte Radiance Baked Powder (£23.00); I tried Highlight 01 and Bronze 01; super soft baked powders which can be dusted on the skin leaving it with a flawless ‘modern, multidimensional matte finish’. These velvety, shimmer free powders will leave your cheeks with a subtle, sun kissed luminosity and a radiant healthy glow. Available in 4 bronzing shades and one highlight shade. From
