Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream, £28

At last, Clarins have finally jumped on the bandwagon and released their BB Skin Perfecting Cream. This comes in an easy to use tube containing 45ml of 100% mineral, oil-free Perfecting Cream with the added bonus of SPF 25; it lasts for ages as you only need to use a tiny little blob.

This product has a lot more coverage than other BBs I’ve tried, but still manages to feel lightweight on the skin and to be soft, natural looking and non cakey. It has more coverage than a tinted moisturiser, but a little less than a foundation helping to even out skin tone and disguise imperfections, redness & highly pigmented patches.

It is long lasting, without the need to touch up halfway through the day and has a radiant, creamy satin finish which looks beautiful in the summer sun (which we are expecting any moment now; promise!)

I tried 01 Light, which, to be honest was still a little too dark for me; it was more like a regular medium shade. It’s quite a thick formula so it takes some time blending it out, but with a little bit of a tan, this may be a good colour match for me over the summer months. This product comes in 3 shades, and while it would be perfect for those with medium and darker skin tones, unfortunately, it may not be great match for those with paler complexions. £28 for 45ml from 0800 036 3558.

Jo Malone Home Fragrance Collection – English Pear & Freesia, £48

For a limited period of time, Jo Malone has extended their divine English Pear & Freesia fragrance collection so that you can surround yourself in this delicious, restful scent.

If you’re not familiar with English Pear & Freesia, its a beautifully fresh, lightly fruity & delicately floral classic English scent “… the sensuousness of just-ripe pears is wrapped in a bouquet of white freesias, and mellowed by amber, patchouli and woods. A luscious and golden scent.”

Fragrance your rooms with the Scent Surround Diffuser (£48); a classically chic glass bottle, complete with silvery collar and striking black reeds. Safer to use than a candle especially around the little ones, plus it looks gorgeous anywhere in your home. Scent Surround Sachets (£40 for a set) are delicately fragranced little black and cream satiny pillows to scent your drawers; if you’re looking for something a little more sophisticated than the norm, then these may well be perfect for you. This collection screams quality and style with its beautiful black and cream packaging; perfect as a treat for yourself or as a special gift for your BFF. From

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara

I have totally fallen in love with Chanel’s new mascara! Originally available in vending machines at Selfridges, you can now purchase it at Chanel counters nationwide. Presented in typically simple, but very chic Chanel packaging, Le Volume de Chanel is available in 3 perfect shades; Noir, Prune; a gorgeous purply brown which makes green or blue eyes pop; and the stunning Bleu. This is an intense colour, high precision volumising mascara which also lengthens & holds a good curl. It has an easy to maneuver innovative plastic ‘Snowflakes’ brush consisting of long & short bristles to create a dramatic eye opening effect; the formula may be a little too wet for some people though. One coat stroked onto eyelashes creates a beautiful natural effect, but with two, the look is incredibly dramatic giving great volume & separation. There are no spidery lashes or clumping to be seen; the formula is non flakey and it doesn’t drift or transfer onto cheeks. This mascara is easy to remove with your usual eye makeup remover, and no rubbing is necessary. Please Chanel, could you think about creating this in a waterproof version, just in time for my summer holiday? £24 from 020 7493 3836 and Chanel counters nationwide

Clayspray Pore Refining White Clay Masque

I love a mud mask and Clayspray have just released the very latest generation of mineral enriched spray treatment masques here in the UK. The collection consists of three White Clay Masks for Pore Refining, Brightening or Toning & three Red Clay Masks for Glow, Mattifying or Deep Cleansing, plus one for the body and one for the hair. I was intrigued to try the Pore Refining White Clay Mask for normal/combination skin which was designed to “purify skin and refine pores, and perfect for a soft and smooth complexion. This luxurious clay not only removes impurities and enviromental toxins but nourishes skin adding minerals to help prevent aging.”

Personally, I wouldn’t classify this as a spray as such; you squirt the product out of the can into your hand & then apply an even layer onto damp skin whilst avoiding your eyebrows and hairline. The mud itself is velvety soft and feels deliciously smooth & cooling on your skin. Once ‘set’ after 10 to 15 minutes (its the strangest sensation as you can barely move your face) thoroughly remove with lots of warm water and a muslin cloth. It does take some time to remove, but hey, its worth the wait; my skin was so silky soft and smooth, pore size was diminished and skin tone beautifully even. It did feel a little tight which is only to be expected with a deep cleansing mask, but once I’d applied my usual serum & moisturiser, my skin felt perfectly relaxed. £44.50 for 125ml (enough for approx 17 facials). Selexir Peace Balm Instant Serenity Treatment for Extremely Dry + Irritated Skin

I’m permanently on the lookout for lotions & potions to soothe my sore hands & I’ve come across a fantastic product which I’m longing to share with you here. Bit of background; I go through different stages with my hands, sometimes the skin is fine, and at other times, I reach a point when they are so red, sore & dry that when I bend my fingers, my skin cracks and bleeds. Ewww, I know! Its excruciatingly painful. This is a very rich, thick balm, totally free from from parabens, paraffin, silicones & petroleum. What it does contain is 21 super concentrated natural ingredients to hydrate, sooth & calm distressed, irritated, sensitive and very dry skin. I’ve been massaging Selexir’s Peace Balm into my hands several times a day, and literally after a day or two the redness and dryness has gone and the cracks are healing; my hands are feeling nourished and restored once more; its amazing! I have a couple of niggles through; its super expensive for the amount of product you actually get; my hands have been so dry, cracked & sore recently that I got through a 30ml tube of Peace Balm in a week without even blinking. Its expensive stuff, but for me it proved to be very effective. £39 for 30ml or £99 for 75ml from

This Works In Transit Camera Close Up

I’m always excited when I get to try out a new product from This Works; as you know we love multi tasking products here at Yummy HQ and In Transit Camera Close Up is no exception. Dubbed as a mask, moisturiser & primer in one, it was originally designed for photo shoots to use on the models to hydrate skin & blur imperfections, creating a perfect base for makeup; and for travelling as a portable pick-me-up to moisturise, restore & brighten tired, dull skin. This fresh smelling balm contains Bio Boost, This Works’ revolutionary blend of repairing plant oils, along with Hyaluronic Acid, Caffine and Starflower Oil to rebalance and hydrate skin ensuring fine lines are plumped and your complexion is left radiant and glowing. When applied after cleansing & moisturising, this lovely balm should be massaged into your face leaving your skin lightly dewey; a perfect base for make up application, or; apply a thick layer after cleansing to face and neck and leave for 10 minutes as a mask. Your skin will literally drink it up; if there is any residue, it can be removed with a damp muslin cloth, leaving skin thats bright & balanced, soothed & revitalised. £30 for 40ml from

Beauty Blender

Dubbed as the ‘celebrity’ makeup sponge, the Beauty Blender is an elliptical (egg shaped to you & I!) little sponge which has been designed specifically to hug the contours of your face. Used damp, it works with liquid & solid foundations, BBs, CCs & tinted moisturisers and gives you a streak free, totally flawless finish; its also great for applying concealer as the pointy end fits well under the eye & at the inner corner of the eye – I’ve never managed to get such an airbrushed finish by using fingers or brushes. Its so easy to use too; apply foundation onto the back of your hand, and use the Beauty Blender in a stippling motion to blend it seamlessly over your face. This product is brilliant for all skin types of all ages as pores & lines are smoothed and don’t get clogged with product. The Beauty Blender is an expensive product, & you would probably need to change it every 3 months, but the difference it makes is really quite amazing. £16 each from

Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditione

Why hasn’t anyone come up with this idea before; its absolute genius! I don’t have the time (or maybe I’m just too bloomin’ lazy) to moisturiser my bod after a shower, let it dry for an eternity & then get dressed. After you’ve used your usual body wash in the shower, slather this In-Shower Body Moisturiser on, give yourself a quick rinse off & bob’s your uncle! This hydrating body conditioner smells fresh & clean, smoothes on like a dream, and washes off quickly; it leaves your skin feeling soft, moisturised & smelling luverley. I didn’t find it as deeply hydrating as a body lotion or body butter, but hey, its so quick & convenient to use that I can live with that. This is a great product for us girls trying to juggle a million things; its convenient, quick & easy & more importantly, super effortless. Get dried, dressed & off you go! I’ve been so taken with this product that I ploughed straight through my first bottle, repurchased immediately & am merrily working my way through the second! 250ml bottles available for Dry or Normal skin. £3.56 from & most usual Nivea stockists
