Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion, £30, for 236ml
yummymummybeauty rating 4/5
What they say; “Subtle light reflecting particles in a natural emollient base give the skin a gorgeous, flattering glow. Radiance conceals minor imperfections and enhances definition to create a sexy, slimmer silhouette. Infused with an innovative blend of natural plant extracts to lift, firm, tighten and diminish the appearance of cellulite, stretch marks and varicose veins, as well as minimising bruising and sore muscles. Fabulous on the body, face and hair!”
What we think; Prtty Peaushun is a cult product with a huge following; it was originally created by American celebrity make-up artist, Bethany Karlyn to make her celebrity clients’ skin glow; and now we can all glow too!
This product comes in a brilliant squeezy package with a screw top nozzle; they call it ‘anti-packaging’ and it’s been designed to take up minimal space, to be light and have as small a carbon footprint as possible.
The product itself has a smooth gel type texture which is loaded with golden glimmery, light reflecting particles and has a delicate, slightly sweet smell. I tried the Light and Medium shades (its also available in Plain, Dark & Deep Dark colourways,) both of which were quite pale and didn’t add a whole lot of colour to my skin; however it did give the most stunning, glossy sheen.
I didn’t notice any tightening, lifting or firming benefits (maybe I would if I used this over a long period of time) though my skin felt beautifully moisturised, smoothed and had a lovely luminous gleam. Even when I massaged this product really well into my skin, it stayed slightly sticky for quite some time which made getting dressed a slow old process. Because of this, it did transfer onto clothes a little, but it does wash off easily. From www.cultbeauty.co.uk
Caudalie Divine Legs Tinted Body Lotion, £26 for 100ml
yummymummybeauty rating 4.7
What they say; “A touch of sun for your legs without the use of a self-tanner. This ultra-light tinted lotion gives your legs an instant sun-kissed glow and encourages skin’s natural tanning process. The universal tint blends perfectly with all skin tones and dries in an instant.”
What we think; Caudalie’s Divine Legs is a velvety smooth, shimmery bronze body lotion housed in a glass bottle with easy to use pump dispenser. It is lightly scented and can be used anywhere on the body for an instant sun kissed glow. It looks frighteningly dark when first applied to the skin but once massaged in, it leaves a beautifully warm, very natural colour and sheen with no obvious sparkles.
It blends into the skin quickly leaving it smooth and even, not at all streaky or patchy. It absorbs completely, leaving the skin hydrated, but perfectly dry so you can get dressed straight away, plus it doesn’t transfer onto clothing. It is relatively mess free, but as with all tinted products, ensure you wash your hands well after use, otherwise you get those tell tale patches between your fingers.
Divine Legs is available in one shade which would suit all skin tones; it is buildable for more depth of colour and can be used over fake tan to give a lovely glow. It contains 92.8% natural ingredients and is free from parabens, mineral oils and sulphates. This product isn’t waterproof, so take care around rain, the pool or even doing the washing up, otherwise you may end up a bit streaky! PS. I’ve just spotted that if you order this now on www.caudalie.com you’ll received a Divine Collection Discovery Box free! From www.caudalie.com
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR, £34 for 100ml
yummymummybeauty rating 4.9
What we think; Huile Prodigieuse OR is the most beautiful sparkly golden oil which comes in an elegant, square glass bottle complete with spray applicator. This ‘dry’ oil contains naturally active ingredients and is free from parabens and mineral oils.
It can be used anywhere, even on your hair (although I’d go easy here); it has a delicate, fresh smell which lingers beautifully on the skin. Its easy to use; shake well, spritz directly onto the skin and massage in lightly; a little goes a very, very long way. This oil absorbs well, leaving skin feeling smoothed, comfortable and hydrated with the most gorgeously golden, super fine shimmer; don’t worry though, you won’t end up looking too sparkly.
Huile Prodigieuse would suit any skin tone; it looks amazing over a tan, or even layered over one of the tinted body lotions to give a bit more luminosity. This product does stay on the skin well, but unfortunately, the glimmer does transfer a little, particularly onto white clothing; so take care! Saying that though, I do feel that it is worth the price tag as you only need to use a little to get a good effect and even if used every day, it would last well over a year. From www.uk.spacenk.com
