Chanel’s CC Cream – Complete Correction SPF 30, £43

Testing out Chanel’s new CC Cream was totally love at first swipe; this has to be the most gorgeous CC Cream I have ever used. Seriously. Chanel’s CC Cream contains Cornflower Water to soothe; Hyaluronic Acid to moisturise; a SPF30 mineral sunscreen to protect against sun damage; Rejuvenica, an active ingredient to prevent and correct signs of ageing; and Mineral Pigments to even out skin tone and to conceal any imperfections.

It is available in two shades; one lighter, one darker, both of which adapt to your skintone. I tried No. 32 Beige Rosé which is the perfect match for my skin tone (it’s also available in No. 20 Beige).

It comes in trés chic, trademark monochromatic Chanel packaging and the tube itself is a hygienic squeezy one with screw top lid. This is a thick, silky cream with a delicate, fruity scent; it is a dream to apply.

I used my fingers to blend no more than a ‘petit pois’ sized dot over my face; it is well pigmented and buildable, so you can layer up where you need it more – I patted a little more on my cheeks to cover slight redness that I have there.

It feels lightweight and hydrating on the skin and never looks heavy, cakey, or thick and it didn’t sink into my fine lines which is a bit of a blessing! Your skin is left with a beautifully fresh, natural finish; perfected & glowing with health.

The instructions state that you can use this CC Cream under foundation, however I found that this cream was all I needed to smooth and even out my skin tone; I completed the look with a light dusting of powder and a little blush – to me this gave the perfect finish. It lasts on the skin all day and doesn’t fade or drift, it really does make my skin look amazing!

Caudalie’s Polyphenol C15 Collection

I’m a great fan of French Skincare brand Caudalie’s products and haven’t tried any new ones since I fell in love with their Beauty Elixir some time ago. Having heard glowing reports on the Beauty Blogosphere about an exciting new range they’d just released which is aimed at those of us over 30, I was keen to get my hands on the new Polyphenol C15 Collection.

It’s formulated with potent antioxidants extracted from Grape Seeds (Polyphenols; the most powerful antioxidants in the plant world) to protect skin against environmental aggressors and to help repair and regenerate; vitamin C to fight oxidation andboost radiance, and hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate. Did you know 4 out of 5 wrinkles are caused by oxidation; UVs, pollution and stress?

This fantastic range consists of just three products;

Anti-Wrinkle Eye & Lip Cream (£26 for 15ml) – Containing Matrixyl 3000, the latest wow ingredient to boost collagen synthesis, Horse Chestnut extract to smooth and Licorice extract to decongest, along with soothing Calendula & Witch Hazel. This soft gel-cream hybrid fights oxidation, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness and leaves delicate skin around the eye area beautifully smooth & hydrated.

SPF20 Anti Wrinkle Protect Fluid (£29 for 40ml) – a lightweight, fruity scented fluid which again is absorbed quickly, leaving skin beautifully soft & plumped, a perfectly moisturised base for makeup application. It protects the skin from free radicals & contains an SPF20 (you may wish to use a separate SPF on top to boost protection a little more; I use a SPF50.)

Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum (£35 for 30ml) – a light, but concentrated, oil free, milky serum to be used morning & night, under moisturiser. It sinks into the skin quickly leaving it smoothed & plumped, adding another layer of protection to the skin to help defend it against the elements. 100% anti-oxidant, it contains vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid & concentrated polyphenols.

Bobbi Brown’s Nectar & Nude Collection (Limited Edition)

I’m a bit late coming to the table with this collection; and I don’t know why I haven’t got round to reviewing it before; probably because it has migrated permanently into my make-up bag (and increased in size as I’ve bought some more pieces from the collection – whoops!)

The collection itself consists of 8 items and to me, the star of the show is the truly stunning Nectar & Nude Eye Palette (£37.50). So, so pretty! It contains 6 beautifully flattering eye shadows in shimmering nectars, soft taupes and rich brown, plus a great sized double ended brush. The shades included are Pale Cream, Soft Buff, Earth, and Rich Caviar (all matte), plus Bronze (Metallic) and Pink Bellini (Sparkle).

The Collection also consists of the Apricot Shimmer Brick (£32) – a classic BB product, but this version features golden nectars, warm taupes, and icy coral-pink shades. A true multi purpose product, the colours of which can be used individually, or swirled together on eyes, cheeks, collarbones or decollate. The Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Hibiscus (£19.00) has made a big impression in the Beauty Blogosphere.

Another great multitasking product, this has a smooth, creamy formula in a beautifully vibrant coral which leaves lips with a soft, stained finish and cheeks with a beautifully healthy glow. Lip Gloss in Nude Pink and Nectar (£18.00 each) to keep lips soft & supple with a wet look shine & pop of colour; and a High Shimmer Lip Gloss (£18.00) in Bare Peach; a pretty, shimmery, illuminating gloss with a hint of colour.

Lastly, something which I was very excited to try, (having not tried any of Bobbi’s Polishes before) are two Nail Polishes (£11.00 each) in Nectar (the most gorgeous juicy coral), and Bare Peach Glitter (clear polish with tiny gold sparkles). These polishes are long lasting, have great coverage and fabulous shine; layer Bare Peach over Nectar for a fun twist!
